Directions to the Executive Business Center:
Enter the south side of the building (the side away from the post office). Go up the stairs, turn left and you will see the waiting area immediately on your right. You do not have to identify yourself, except to tell the receptionist that you are there to see me.
Do I have to contact you prior to making an appointment?
No, you may make an appointment without contacting me. If you have questions, I prefer an email. If you call, I will probably need to return your call at a convenient time.
If you are coming in as a couple, please schedule a 90 minute appointment. You will see two buttons on the online scheduler. One shows the appointments available for 1 hour appointments and the other will show the availability for 1 1/2 hour appointments.
After you make an appointment, you will receive an email with a link to the
Initial Information Form
and you will recieve confirmation on your appointment time.
What is the cost of counseling?
The charge is $120 per 50-minute session and $180 for a 90-minute session.
Do you accept insurance for counseling or psychotherapy?
I do accept insurance and I am considered "in-network" for United Healthcare, and BCBS. I am not in-network with Aetna, Humana and Cigna but you may be able to access out-of-network benefits. You will need to contact your carrier for information regarding my network status with other plans and to determine what your mental health benefits are. I do not accept Medicare or Tenncare.
You will need to clarify your benefits prior to scheduling an appointment for counseling. Mental health benefits often vary from other healthcare benefits and sometimes must be authorized by a managed care company in order for you to receive your benefits.
How do I determine what my deductible and copayment will be?
You will need to contact your insurance company's customer service and ask them, "What are my
(in-network or out-of-network) outpatient mental health benefits." Be aware that insurance will require a patient with a mental health diagnosis.
How many therapy sessions should I expect to attend?
The number of therapy sessions varies. A few couples simply need one session of coaching, while most others must commit to change over several months. Make a commitment to working on your marriage over the next three months.
Will counseling save my marriage?
My approach focuses on helping couples to connect, cooperate and make good decisions. I feel this is the healthiest path to reconciliation, but sometimes there is "too much water under the bridge" and the promise of an improved relationship does not preserve the marriage. I find that most couples are able to find a connection through working with me.
What if my partner is unwilling to attend?
I can still be helpful. By examining how you respond to your partner, you can make a great difference on the future of your relationship.
